No. of personal bankruptcy proposals record in Nov – CRIF

​As many as 2,497 proposals for personal bankruptcy were filed in November, 13 more than in October and the highest number filed in one month since January 2008 when personal bankruptcies were introduced, according to an analysis of company CRIF - Czech Credit Bureau.
 

​A total of 1,628 personal bankruptcies were declared in November, 119 fewer than in October.

In the last 12 months, the number of personal bankruptcies reached 18,807, 2,072 more than in the previous period.

The number of bankruptcy proposals in the last 12 months reached 25,743, 2,081 more than in the preceding 12 months.

The highest number of personal bankruptcy petitions was in regions Jihomoravsky (240). Only 48 personal bankruptcies were declared in region Vysocina.

The highest number of personal bankruptcies in the last 12 months was declared in regions Ustecky and Stredocesky (13 percent each) and the lowest number in regions Vysocina and Zlinsky.

Year on year, the number of personal bankruptcies increased by 12 percent, much less than in the previous years. The number even dropped in a yr/yr comparison in three regions, the most in region Plzensky (26 percent), and also in regions Karlovarsky and Olomoucky.

"The number of bankruptcies this year will be higher than last year but the growth dynamics will be much lower. We expect the number of personal bankruptcies this year to be lower than 20,000," said CRIF analyst Vera Kamenickova.
